We did it!
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009English Countryside in ‘Scary Danger’ Shocker!
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009As this is likely my first and last blog post for the ramblomatic site, I thought I’d make it a scary one.
We don’t have much to worry about in England when it comes to wildlife. There are no dangerous spiders, no killer bees and even our native Adder snake has a bite about as poisonous as good night out on the vodka. If you’re really unlucky you might get squashed by cows. But there is a new danger, one that threatens to engulf us all!
Well, perhaps not, but it’s good to be aware of these things I guess…
Tick Alert is a campaign “…to raise awareness of tick-borne diseases both at home and abroad”. TBE is definitely to be avoided but doesn’t look to be a concern here…yet. The one we should worry about is Lyme disease…and the South Downs is a UK hotspot! A HOTSPOT I TELLS YA!!!

Ystradfellte (waterfalls)
Thursday, May 14th, 2009The second team walk in the Brecons, and it was a good ‘un. After a big day on the hills on Saturday and with the threat of driving home looming large, we decided to go for a short ’sightseeing’-type walk. We chose to head for Ystradfellte to take in a few of the waterfalls. It was a superb, sunny day and it was an absolute stunner. Wel worth a look if you’re ever around there.

Thursday, May 14th, 2009Ah, the Welsh hills! What a lovely walk this was - seven of the twelve walkers all walking together, hitting some 2000 ft peaks, enjoying the scenery and making the most of the mostly-good weather. Fantastic.

Poker game turns into fundraiser
Friday, March 13th, 2009When Matthew said he had a day off, our minds immediately turned to Poker. Now whilst it wasn’t declared at the start of the game, the winner couldn’t accept the money whilst his teams just giving page stood at £0.

Hassocks to Brighton (CP8 to CP11)
Sunday, March 1st, 2009There’s only one way to know what you’ve got to do. And that’s to do it. Only a fraction of Ramblomatic could make it, but nevertheless, Ben, Ian and Olly set off to start from Hassocks Station to Brighton Station. With only a bad sense of direction from Ben and a map from Olly, they set off to reinact the hardest section of the Trailwalker.

Monday, February 16th, 2009Possibly the most official Ramblomatic walk since members from all three teams were included. Ben, Elisabel, Hak, Sam and Zoe started on an epic journey to travel from Wimbledon Station, round Richmond park, round the Lake in the park and back to the flat. With only two stops and good time being made
